934 Fest is a multi-day music and arts festival hosted by 934 Gallery. The fest is a high-energy, grassroots celebration of art and community, featuring a weekend full of live music with 20+ musical acts, 40+ freshly painted murals, a vendor market, kids activities, and a new exhibition inside the gallery each year. Admission is always free, with donations and sponsorships helping fund the non-profit’s mission of bringing fresh, contemporary art to Columbus.
Since 2021, we have collaborated with 934 Gallery to shape the festival’s visual identity, lead social marketing strategy, and create all supporting digital and print materials, including on-site banners and wayfinding signage, merch, and a suite of social graphics.
Over the years, 934 Fest has brought thousands of visitors to the gallery grounds, grown a mural collection that stretches across city blocks, and fostered a thriving community of artists, musicians, and creatives. We’re proud to continue designing and evolving the identity of this ever-growing celebration.

midgame discourse
The theme for 2023 Fest centered on board games, inspired by the featured mural created by surrealist painter, Jen Wrubleski, and illustrative artist, Thom Glick. Drawing on the visual language of chessboards, grids, and playful structure, we built out a modular festival identity that captured the strategy, spontaneity, and collaboration that define both games and the arts.
For the 2022 Fest identity, we drew inspiration directly from the work of the two featured muralists – contemporary figurative painter LaShae J. Boyd and folk artist Lynda McClanahan – artists from two distinct generations and visual backgrounds. The design language became a remix of styles: tactile textures, analog elements, and visual nods to stereo equipment from the late '80s and early '90s – connecting past to present and reflecting the eclectic, inclusive energy of the festival itself.

ABOUT 934 GALLERY
934 Gallery is a non-profit, contemporary art gallery in Columbus, Ohio, showcasing local, national, and international artists. 934 Gallery focuses on bringing a fresh perspective to contemporary art through trailblazing exhibitions, installations, performances, and public art projects.
Since 2021, we have offered our services pro bono to the 100% volunteer-run gallery, currently serving as Marketing Committee Chair (Madison) and Creative Director (Ryan).
